This is our annual recommendation to start your season with an informative, hands on and fun 1 1/2 day avalanche course.
This course is perfect for anyone who has taken and AIARE Level 1 or 2 in the last few years and wants to brush up on their skills. This 1 1/2 day information dense course is designed to get your mindset wrapped around travel in avalanche terrain, decision making, rescue and risk management early in the season.
We cover everything you need and nothing you don’t, perfect for the backcountry traveler with prior education. Topics covered include: Rescue, Tour Planning, Terrain Management, Weather and Snow Factors, Teamwork and Communication. Time will be spent mostly in the field so be prepared to be outside.
Prerequisites:
AIARE 1 or 2
Prior backcountry experience
Competent skier or snowboarder
